Quincy Jones and Bill Cosby

The Original Jam Sessions, 1969.

My understanding of the story is that these two legends brought together the best Jazz artists of the day to get together and "jam" in a studio. Bites from these sessions were to become the soundtrack for Fat Albert.

A few years ago the album was released.

And now, the Grand Finale!

A SHINING STAR

What is the relationship between distance to a star and its brightness (that is the intensity of light we receive from it)? As we can see in the diagram, as we move away from a star, the radiation it emits has to cover a greater surface area. Imagine a sphere at a distance r from the star. Assuming a star is spherical and emits radiation equally in all directions the intensity of the energy at distance r over an area A will be I. If we double the distance from the star to 2r this same amount of energy is now distributed over four times the surface area, that is 4A. This means that the intensity per unit A is only ¼ the amount at r. At 3× the distance it will only be 1/9th the intensity per unit A and so forth.

Voila'! That was actually a pretty cool thing to learn.

The Answer To Your Question... Gan Eden

Rabbinic afterlife teachings varied in different places and times, and
was never synthesized into one coherent philosophy. As such, the
different descriptions of the afterlife are not always consistent with
each other. This is especially true for the descriptions of "Olam
Haba", the world to come. In some rabbinic works this phrase refers to
the messianic era, a physical realm right here on Earth. However, in
other works this phrase means Gan Edan, Paradise (in Heaven, so to
speak), a purely spiritual realm. At various points in the afterlife
journey, the soul is said to encounter:
* Hibbut ha-kever, the pains of the grave
* Dumah, the angel of silence
* The angel of death
* The Kaf ha-Kela, the catapult of the soul
* Gehenna (purgatory) and Gan Eden (Heaven; Paradise)

A Woman Candidate? A Black Candidate? Never Been Done Before Right?

Wrong!
In 1872 Victoria Woodhull ran for President with Frederick Douglass running for Vice President on the same ticket. Pretty interesting lady. Definitely worth 5 minutes to check it out.
